TWO-wheel enthusiasts faced sunshine and showers as they streamed in to the New Forest for Beaulieu's Motorcycle World.

Those attending on the Saturday were the fortunate ones as the sun blazed down throughout and brought a gleam to the massed ranks of bikes on show but it meant that riders in their leathers sweltered a contrast to Sunday's persistent and unexpected rain.

Supersport bikes were much in evidence among the many trade stands with scooters a distinct rarity while the Harley look-alikes from Victory welcomed visitors to the trade area.

Among the local companies doing brisk business were Verwood-based Crescent Suzuki (who attracted a large crowd by showing motorcycle racing) and exhaust specialists X Generation with their line-up of pipework including a one-off custom trike built for Hogs Back Brewery by Bournemouth based Battistinis.

Star names being hunted for their autographs included stunt rider Jason Finn, former world champions Phil Read and Sammy Miller and regular favourites Mick Grant, Tommy Robb and Niall Mackenzie.

Among the most popular exhibits were rare and famous bikes from the Sammy Miller Collection at New Milton as well as the Brooklands Museum and the London Motorcycle Museum.
