THE latest Pendulum live tour is up and running... and my do those guys make you work up a sweat!

The Aussie drum 'n' bass maestros kicked off their 2010 tour at a packed Southampton Guildhall on Saturday night before they take their impressive live show around the UK.

The Guildhall is a sweatbox at the best of times but this gig reached new levels I've never experienced before, as bare chested sweaty people of all ages and races cut shapes to basslines that shook you right to the core.

Best known as a trio, Pendulum become a five-piece for their live show with MC Ben Mount orchestrating the frantic masses jumping around in front of them.

You can never accuse Pendulum of not putting on a show or giving value for money, and again they did not disappoint from a visual perspective as well as a musical one, with a backdrop of colourful graphics and videos accompanying each tune.

Some of the tracks from new album, Immersion, were naturally a little less enthusiastically received (as it doesn't hit the shops until next week) and as is so often the case, it was the big smash hits that had the sweaty masses at their craziest.

Propane Nightmares, Slam and Granite were all highlights of a non-stop energy set that was bought to a close by new single Watercolour, which is already looking like the next classic drum 'n' bass anthem from the kings of the genre.
