TRIBUTES have flooded in for an “inspirational” school teacher who died on Sunday.

Nick Quick was a popular science tutor at Lytchett Minster School for a decade.

The popular head of house was known for his musical talent and is said to have been a member of 1980s chart-toppers Tears for Fears before they found fame.

A tribute page on Facebook has already attracted more than 1,000 members and scores of emotional accolades from pupils, past and present.

Jamie Myers said: “You were an inspirational person and you will never ever be forgotten. You’re an absolute legend.”

Lillian Slater said Mr Quick “genuinely believed in everyone” and always gave his time.

Shannon Day recalled her teacher’s generosity when her family’s house was struck by lightning in Upton in 2008.

“Thanks for everything you have done for me, and the DVD player and clothes you got me when my house burnt down,” she said.

“It shows what a lovely man you are – you’re truly amazing and will never ever be forgotten.”

Many students fondly recalled Mr Quick’s famous “rock and roll” Christmas assemblies and his rendition of Chris Rea’s Driving Home for Christmas.

Sarah Biles said: “Will never forget all your great assemblies – it made it less dull, in fact you made everything less dull.”

In a brief statement, Lytchett School head Stuart Clark: “Mr Quick was employed at Lytchett Minster School for 10 years.

“He was a popular teacher and head of house.

“He was a gifted man with a very compassionate attitude towards students and colleagues. This is very sad news.”
