A “BULLY” who beat up his girlfriend using his fists, feet and furniture as weapons has been jailed for three years.

Property agent Bradley Ennis, 23, was found guilty of assault causing actual bodily harm, following a trial at Bournemouth Crown Court.

Jurors heard how violence had flared following an argument between the couple on September 27 last year. Without provocation, Ennis from Garden Close, Northolt, Middlesex, attacked his victim, who is expecting his child, using his fists and feet.

He dragged her by her hair, kicking her and hitting her using items including chairs and trampolines. Ennis hurled a mug with such force that when it struck his terrified girlfriend, she suffered cuts to her ear.

The woman, who lives in Bournemouth, also sustained bruising during the vicious attack.

In Ennis’s defence, the court was told that the couple’s relationship had been “turbulent” and the flashpoint that sparked the attack had been “a sharp exchange of words between them.”

The assault had been “relatively short” and unpremeditated. Ennis still maintained his innocence and did not accept any wrongdoing.

Sentencing Ennis for the assault and a theft offence on May 4 last year, Recorder Geoffrey Still told him: “You beat her up for no good reason. You were a bully. You had a short fuse and you used it. That is too common these days.

“You attacked her truthfulness up hill and down dale during the trial. I’ve real worries that you might, on release, do something similar to some other unfortunate young woman.”

He added: “This was a bad offence, there was no provocation. You were prepared to use implements, as weapons, against her and you did her harm.”
