IDENTICAL twins who arrived 15 weeks early and have different birthdays and starsigns are finally home from hospital.

Isabelle and Jasmine Eaton were born at 25 weeks in Poole Hospital in August, weighing 695 grams and 705 grams respectively – 1lb 9ozs each.

Now four-and-a-half months old, when they were last weighed two weeks ago Isabelle was 6lb 1oz, and Jasmine was 7lbs 12 ozs.

They are nearly at the birth weight of their cousin Skye Ford, born to Laura’s brother Graham and partner Nicki Mills at almost the same time. Skye was three weeks early at seven pounds and is now around 22 lbs.

Mum Laura Eaton, 22, a former hairdresser, of Farwell Road in Poole, had previously been told it would be hard to become pregnant because of polycystic ovaries and while pregnant had twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, an imbalanced flow of blood between the twins.

Despite the problems and with no family history of twins, Laura gave birth to Isabelle at 11.54pm on August 23, and Jasmine on August 24 at 12.06am.

Because they were born so early, Isabelle and Jasmine were transferred to Southampton.

Jasmine then went back to Poole hospital for 108 days, while Isabelle stayed in Southampton for 109 days, leaving Laura and her stonemas-on husband Richard Eaton, also 22, shuttling between the two hospitals.

Isabelle has undergone three operations on her bowel and eye surgery, and both were given ibuprofen to cure holes in their hearts.

Laura said getting her daughters home on December 8 and December 9 was “definitely the best Christmas gift”.

Laura added: “Isabelle wakes up every four to five hours. She has to have regular feeds because she is on drugs.

“Jasmine does sleep a bit more but at the moment she is teething! She wakes up every hour or two. I’ve a very supportive family and plenty of Red Bull!”

Laura and husband Richard said both babies “growl a lot” to communicate. Jasmine wants to play while Isabelle seems more laid back, and they thanked hospital staff for their care.
