SWIMMERS have splashed out in Wimborne to raise money for their favourite charities.
Over 150 swimmers dived in to the swimming pool at the Queen Elizabeth leisure centre near Wimborne.
The event was organ-ised by the Rotary Club of Wimborne. Past president, Peter Douch, said the event had achieved pledges of £10,000.
The amount raised for good causes could swell to £12,000 once the government’s “gift aid” tax break was considered, he added.
A quarter of the money raised will go to charities chosen by the swimmers. The remaining 75 per cent will be split between the Wimborne Rotary Club’s three chosen charities – Pramacare, Naomi House and Life Education Wessex.
