Will Steve be Masterchef winner?

PRAISE: Steve Groves PRAISE: Steve Groves

TELEVISION viewers will see whether former Poole head chef Steve Groves can cook his way to the Masterchef title.

The former head chef at the Branksome Beach restaurant sailed into the final three after preparing a two-course meal for four of the country’s top restaurateurs.

His efforts, particularly his unique take on a boiled egg and soldiers, also impressed judges Gregg Wallace and legendary chef Michel Roux Jr.

He will now compete against two others to become the UK’s top professional Masterchef.

The remaining challenges will see him preparing high tea at one-Michelin-starred Sketch in London’s Mayfair and cooking a pre-match lunch for VIP guests at Chelsea Football Club.

Masterchef: The Professionals continues on BBC2 Monday to Thursday.

Good luck, Steve - your food has definitely been the best so far. The 'boiled egg & soldiers' dish was so inventive - not one for me to try at home, though!

Yes, well done Steve; I liked all the 3 finalists, but you definitely deserved to win, with amazing food.
