Shoppers on a Wimborne housing estate have been celebrating the opening of a new convenience store.
The Premier convenience store at Leigh Park has been launched in the combined premises of two separate shops, previously trading as Lee’s News and PG Stores.
Mayor of Wimborne, Cllr John Burden, performed the honours at an opening ceremony at the Gordon Road premises, assisted by staff members, Katherine and Abigail Coombes, and Sam Prince.
Bobby the clown kept children entertained with balloon modelling and a puppet show, with one youngster asking staff if the store could be launched every day.
Face and arm painting proved a hit with young visitors to the store, while mums and dads seized the opportunity to buy their shopping in peace.
Relieved Echo readers living at Leigh Park can continue to buy their favourite daily paper from the Gordon Road premises.
