A COMMUNITY group designed to increase awareness about how local people can help alleviate the problem of decreasing world oil supplies is inviting people to their next meeting.
Transition Towns Christchurch is following in the footsteps of other groups around the country who have set-up business swap-shops, local currencies and working groups in a bid to deal with the problem on a more local level.
The next meeting of the group will be held on Wednesday August 19 at Druitt Hall.
The open discussion, which will be based on the subject, How can we be a sustainable Christchurch?, starts at 7.30pm and will continue until around 9.30pm.
