A FAMILY has been pulled from the waters of Poole Harbour by RNLI lifeboat crews after their dinghy capsized.

Volunteer crew from the lifeboat station on Poole Quay found two members of the family clinging to the hull of their upturned craft near Bull Pit Beacon, in water off Evening Hill, on Tuesday afternoon (21).

Crew from the station’s inshore lifeboat (ILB) pulled the shivering pair from the water and reunited them with two family members picked up by crew from the Poole Harbour launch vessel, Vigilant.

Paul Singleton, Poole Lifeboat Station’s volunteer senior helmsman, said conditions in the harbour had been blustery.

The Vigilant took the shaken family ashore, while the RNLI crew righted the dinghy and towed it back to Salterns Marina.

An RNLI spokesperson said the family had been visiting Poole for the day when they got into difficulties
