Mark Little: Defending the Caveman, Tivoli Theatre, Wimobrne
With such a likeable man at the helm of this one-man show – Joe Mangel from Neighbours for anyone unfamiliar with the name – this was always going to be an enjoyable evening’s entertainment, and that’s precisely what it is.
Rarely side-splittingly hilarious, it’s nevertheless an amusing comparison of men and women, and actually a rather fascinating insight into why we’re so different, and exactly how ancient man’s behaviour is still relevant today.
The busy theatre chuckled along as our friendly entertainer revealed anecdote after anecdote about him and his wife Cath, which resonated so exactly with each of our own lives – “She thinks I’m being silent and sulky, but I’ve just run out of words!”
Knowing glances between couples flitted all over the place.
It was a thoroughly pleasant evening’s entertainment, which left me with a warm feeling of finally understanding that we really are in different worlds, men and women, and that it’s not necessarily a bad thing.
