FIREFIGHTERS were called to two heath fires, at Turbary Common in Bournemouth and Canford Heath in Poole on Wednesday evening.
At 6.40pm Dorset Fire and Rescue had 30 calls reporting a small heath fire at Turbary Common, near Canford Avenue in Wallisdown.
One crew from Redhill and a Land Rover team from Ferndown used beaters to quickly get the flames under control by 8.23pm.
And around 100 people called at 6.56pm to report a large area of Heathland well alight at Canford Heath, off Francis Avenue.
Seven fire appliances were called in total and 33 firefighters had the fire beaten by 7.42pm, and the last crews left the scene by 9pm.
