A HAT trick of Green Flag Awards for Upton Country Park has been celebrated by volunteers and staff.

The park received the prestigious award for the third time this year, recognising it as one of the best open spaces in the country.

To mark the achievement, Borough of Poole hosted a celebration event to say thank you to the volunteers, staff, businesses, clubs and societies involved.

Judges were particularly impressed with the range of facilities at the 100-acres of parkland, woodland and formal garden at the waterside park and the support provided by the Friends of Upton Country Park.

“For Upton Country Park to be awarded a Green Flag for a third time is an excellent achievement,” said Cllr Peter Adams, cabinet portfolio holder for leisure.

“This clearly shows the dedication and commitment of staff and other stakeholders who work in partnership to make the park such a beautiful place to visit and enjoy.”
