POOLE Town admit there may be slight changes to their proposed £1 million development plans for Branksome Rec.
The non-league club is urgently preparing its response to the council consultation on the scheme, which crystallised some of the major concerns raised.
The independent report said the worries needed to be "analysed and addressed" by the Dolphins, who want to build a new ground on part of the rec and upgrade the existing facilities.
Although he would not specify the nature of any tweaks to the original plans, vice-chairman Chris Reeves said: "There will be changes, but the plans have to remain pretty much the same in essence to deliver the wide range of community benefits.
"We are getting stuck into addressing everything in the report."
Another matter highlighted in the report was that Poole Town had not "effectively communicated" the benefits of their proposals.
Mr Reeves accepted the report's view and admitted the vast majority of their time had been spent "fire fighting" opponents' anger.
He said: "The community benefits are absolutely immense but have not been that well promoted.
"One of the things the report states is people were making objections without the full information, so we are looking to produce a comprehensive response."
In total, the independent consultation, carried out by Bournemouth University, considered 176 letters and emails in response to the scheme.
Of those, 141 expressed concern about or opposed the scheme, with 35 in support.
The vast majority of opposing responses came from residents living in close proximity to the rec, while most supporters came from a wider area of Poole and Bournemouth.
The top issues raised by opponents were parking, loss of open space and increased traffic.
Supporters pointed to the benefits to the local and wider communities and highlighted the refurbishment and development of the existing facilities.
