A BOSCOMBE resident has complained dog walkers are leaving poo on the street after a bin was removed by BCP Council.

Local resident, Michelle Mall, 42, has complained that dog walkers have begun to leave dog poo on Gladstone Street West, Boscombe, after the council removed a dog bin on the week of April 15.

Michelle claimed that the bin was removed after someone cutting the grass on the green opposite Boscombe Baptist Church damaged the bin with the pole now also taken away.

She said: "I thought they were going to come and put the bin back up or put a new bin on but they've actually come and removed the pole completley.

"It's horrible to keep walking her and carrying a slipping s***t bag.

"I don't mind taking them home but you carry on walking swinging a s***t bag around. It's one of these thing where it is vital to have a dog bun because everyone leaves their dog poo as it is on the streets."

A common place for locals to walk their dogs, Michelle stated people left the bags by the pole after the bin was moved and she is now scared to walk into the grass.

Michelle stated she believes by removing the bin, it incentivises 'lazy' behaviour and has gone to the council to get the bin reinstated.

She said: "I quite like going in the grass with her but it's putting me off even stepping in it and some of the poos that we see are the size of her head.

"The bin wasn't damaged, it just looked like it needed to be put back up again. It's just disappointing."

A spokesperson for BCP Council said: “A dog waste bin was damaged by one of our ride on mowers in Gladstone Road last week, and we removed it for safety reasons.

"Dog owners can dispose of their dog waste in one of the many mixed waste bins found nearby, or take it home and place in their household refuse.

“Every dog owner has a legal responsibility to pick up after their dog and dispose of the waste in the correct manner.”
