A DORSET author who wrote a series of children’s books on overcoming difficult feelings has donated them to local schools.

Lisa Everett, from Wimborne, wrote The Repairables after working as a school counsellor with pupils who need behavioural support.

The books, aimed at primary school children, have been donated to 100 schools around the county.

Lisa said: “All the work I have done counselling children in schools led me to start writing my first book.

“The purpose of the books is to educate and to provide children with a bit of resilience and self-awareness around managing difficult feelings.

“It’s important for young people to know that it’s okay and it’s normal.”

The books also offers advice for carers, at the back there is a discussion where children can share their thoughts about the characters and the themes addressed in the book.

First, the series Naughty Nick is about a man who is always getting into trouble - and how his behaviour is judged by others.

Lisa has written seven books and is currently working on eight. She has had three books published.

She said: “I could go on and on with writing books, obviously talking about different feelings and situations that children go through and spread some more awareness.”
