A CHARITY walk will take place later this month to fundraise for Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month.

Participants can choose to walk a varied distance in aid of chosen charities.

Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month takes place throughout April.

One of the charities for the event is Steel Bones, a community-based group that supports amputee families to live life to the full, overcoming the trauma of amputation.

Four inclusive walks have been organised by Dorset Orthopaedic Care, one of the UK's leading providers of private prosthetic and orthotic rehabilitation, and HCML, an independent provider of personal injury case management.

A spokesperson for the event said: “All walks are fully inclusive and suitable for wheelchair users.

“Friends and family are also welcome to this wonderful afternoon of movement and celebration with several distance options available including 1.3k or 5k to cater to individuals of all abilities.

“To take part, we ask for a £5 minimum donation fee, with all proceeds going to charity.”

The event is taking place on April 25 at 1pm at Moors Valley Country Park and Forest.
