A MAN was acting suspiciously and followed a family around on a beach while loitering around the seafront.

Dorset Police received a report of the man acting suspiciously on Swanage Beach at 10.50am on Sunday, April 14.

The man was described as wearing a bright orange high vis top, a blue baseball cap and jeans.

Officers attended the scene and a local man aged in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence, after further enquiries.

The man has been released on police bail while enquiries are carried out.

Now, officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Police Constable Josh Hurwood, of Purbeck police, said: “We are carrying out further enquiries into this incident to establish the full circumstances and I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity on the morning of Sunday 14 April 2024 and witnessed anything suspicious to please contact us.”
