MANAGEMENT at a Poole Wetherspoons pub is “delighted” after it was awarded a top rating for its levels of hygiene.

The Lord Wimborne, in Lagland Street, has been awarded five out of five stars by the Food Standards Agency.

Inspectors from BCP Council found the establishment had ‘good’ cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and ‘very good’ management of food safety and hygienic food handling.

The pub’s manager, Kevin Young, said: “We are delighted that we have gained the top rating and I’m sure our customers will welcome the news too.

“Standards of hygiene at the pub are of paramount importance.

“All of the staff work hard to ensure that the pub offers its customers the highest levels of hygiene at all time and we are delighted that our efforts have been recognised with the five-star rating.”

Recently, other Wetherspoon pubs in the BCP region also received a five star rating, including the Mary Shelley in Bournemouth town centre and Parkstone and Heatherlands in Winton.
