A MAN and woman have been arrested following an incident which sparked a large emergency service response in Poole.
Dorset Police received a report at 8.36pm on Friday, April 5, of a 'disturbance' involving a man and a woman in Lagland Street.
Officers attended and, following enquiries, officers went to arrest a woman in connection with the incident.
She reportedly made off from officers at the scene, and could not be located despite searches of the area.
A man involved also reportedly made threats to start a fire. The fire service attended as a precaution.
A man aged in his 30s was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault, affray and intentional strangulation.
He has been released on police bail.
Following further enquiries, a woman aged in her 30s has also been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and escaping from lawful custody.
Following reports two officers were assaulted in custody, she has further been arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.
The arrested man and woman are known to each other.
