A BROADSTONE pub has donated hundreds of pounds to a leisure centre after it sold 1000 burgers.

The Goods Yard Pub has donated £500 to The Junction Leisure Centre after donating 50p for every Junction burger sold to the centre.

Reopening the pub in October 2023 as part of the Fired Up Collective, the pub began the scheme to support its neighbour.

CEO of the Fired Up Collective, Andy Lennox, said: "We are excited to announce that we have now sold our 1000th burger and are donating £500 to The Junction. They provide excellent leisure facilities for the local population and are at the heart of the community.

"They are not just a place to go and get fit, but it is also a place for the community to come together. We are looking forward to selling another 1000 Junction burgers so that we can donate another £500 very soon.”

Senior operations manager of YMCA, Martin Stockley, thanked Andy and the team saying the donation means it can 'stay at the heart of the community.'

He said: "The Junction Sports & Leisure Centre, managed by YMCA Bournemouth, prides itself on serving the entire local community, all ages, and all abilities."
