PLANS to bring a major wine retailer to Christchurch are ‘progressing’.
Majestic Wine has earmarked a building in Saxon Square for a new store.
The specific building is already home to a number of shops and offices, but planning permission has been obtained to form a new retail unit and shop front.
Once finalised, Majestic Wine would face towards Fountain Roundabout and be accessed from Milhams Street North via steps and ramps.
In an update given this week, the wine retailer said the new Christchurch store was “still progressing to plan” but could not confirm an official opening date.
Majestic Wine already has more than 200 stores across the UK but wants to open at another 70 locations as part of ambitious expansion plans.
