THE following cases were heard at Poole Magistrates' Court: 

LEWIS HART, 18 and of Westover Road in Bournemouth, admitted assault by beating after assaulting a man in Swindon on August 2, 2023. He was handed a community order running until September 4, 2025, with rehabilitation activity requirements. He was also ordered to pay £100 in compensation.

ANDREW GIDLEY, 31 and of Dairy Close in Christchurch, admitted breaching a sexual harm prevention order on March 4 by using a device capable of accessing, searching, storing and downloading material from the internet without notifying police. The sexual harm prevention order had been made by Bournemouth Crown Court on July 16, 2021. He was jailed for 26 weeks.

SHANE JACKSON, 34 and of Ringwood Road in Poole, was found guilty of assault by beating after assaulting a woman in Poole on December 5, 2023. He was jailed for 28 days.

JOHN ANTONY BUTCHER, 30 and of no fixed address, admitted to a number of offences which took place in Southampton. He was in possession of an offensive weapon, namely a metal baton, and used threatening or abusive words or behaviour which caused harassment, alarm, or distress on December 10, 2022. He stole a Ford Focus on November 2, 2022, and drove it without insurance or a licence. He also admitted failing to surrender to custody at Southampton Magistrates' Court on January 19, 2023, having been released on bail in criminal proceedings. The defendant was jailed for six months and fined £400. He also got six points on his drivers’ licence.

RICHARD HARBOTTLE, 43 and of Gatley Avenue in West Ewell, admitted speeding and driving without insurance on the A338 Spur Road on May 27, 2022. He got six points on his licence. He was also fined £160, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34, and ordered to pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

SHARON WENDY TINA STENTAFORD, 47 and of Cairns Close in Christchurch, admitted driving without insurance and with an expired test certificate in Poole on September 4, 2022. She got six points on her licence. She was also fined £160, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £64, and ordered to pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

AHROON GHANI, 38 and of Cumbrian Way in High Wycombe, admitted failing to give information to Dorset Police on May 13, 2023, relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence. He was fined £120, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £48 and ordered to pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

MIHAIL VASILE, 55 and of Gorse Hill in Swindon, was found guilty of failing to give information to Dorset Police on July 23, 2023, relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence. He was disqualified from driving for six months. He was also fined £242, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £194 and ordered to pay costs of £225 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
