A PERSON suffered a broken ankle while on a walk along a Dorset beauty spot.
The fire service and Coastguard rushed to Dancing Ledge, along the South West Coast Path in Langton Matravers, shortly after 2pm on Saturday, March 2.
Eventually, crews reached the stranded person who said they were unable to walk.
They helped the casualty to safety and carried them on a stretcher to stable land where it wasn’t muddy.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) said: “Firefighters liaised with the coastguard, and brought the casualty across the muddy and slippery terrain to a safe location.
“The casualty made their own arrangement to attend hospital.”
Swanage Fire Station, which attended the incident with a crew from Poole, added: “DWFRS crews and the Coastguard team carried the casualty on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance.
“We wish the person a speedy recovery.”
