HEAVY rain may cause some flooding and disruption in places, according to the Met Office.

Another yellow weather warning has been issued by the national weather service, this time starting at 6am on Sunday, February 25.

The alert has been issued for Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and the rest of the county, as well as much of the south west particularly along the southern coastline.

It will be in place for 12 hours and end at 6pm on Sunday.

The Met Office said to expect bus and train services to be affected with journey times taking longer as well as spray and flooding on roads which will probably make journey times longer.

A spokesperson added: “Rain is expected to move northeastwards across parts of south west England on Sunday morning, persisting through much of the day before slowly dying out later in the afternoon.

“15 to 25 mm rainfall is likely quite widely with perhaps up to 40 mm in a few places. With saturated ground, this may lead to some flooding and disruption.”

It follows another yellow weather alert issued by the Met Office earlier this week for strong winds of up to 70mph.

The warning was in force between 8am and 6pm on Thursday, February 22.
