THE best beaches in the world have been revealed, with Sandbanks and other Dorset beaches making the list.

Sandbanks Beach was named the most sustainable in the world in the Tripadvisor Travellers Choice Awards 2024.

The beach was selected for its commitment to sustainability, including where Tripadvisor users were most likely to discuss sustainability in positive reviews.

With its golden sand and blue water, Poole Beach has held its Blue Flag status for the last 35 years.

The beach is a popular tourist destination with a crazy golf course, a beach café, a volleyball net, a shower and toilet facilities.

Tripadvisor described Sandbanks as a family-friendly spot with soft, golden sand, clear water, and incredible views.'

The beach was praised for being pet friendly, allowing dogs on the western side all year round.

Barbeques are also allowed on the beach between 6pm and 10.30pm, as long as the beach guidelines are strictly followed.

Holidaymakers on TripAdvisor have routinely praised Sandbanks Beach.

One review said: "Just the best beach. Very clean with stunning views. A nice bar with great food. The beach is not to be missed. It really is the highlight."

The list ranked Weymouth Beach as the 19th-best beach in Europe.
