A FESTIVAL celebrating the community of Poole is returning for its second year.

After the success of the first Seafood and Sounds festival, organisers have announced the festival is returning.

This year, visitors can expect to see a seafood-themed parade, live music throughout the day, and a seafood market among other events over the two-day festival.

The Dolphin in Poole will be the main sponsor for this year's festival along with St Tropez, Poole BID, Poole Harbour Commissioners, Brown Booth, Saltwater Stone,  ACO Security, Poole Rotary and Pirates of Poole.

Helen Bull, one of the organisers, said: "After the success of last year’s Seafood & Sounds Event on Poole Quay, I am excited to be part of the organisation again this year and look forward to the event being even bigger and better.

“The market during the event on Poole Quay is growing fast with fresh local seafood companies, local produce, and craft makers – there will be something for everyone.

“The musicians line up this year is fantastic and will be playing from 11am to 5pm over the weekend down the Quay and into The Old Town and the restaurants will be offering special fish dishes each day to tantalise your taste buds.

“The oyster trail will be back with some fantastic prizes and a lot of other surprises will be announced at a later date.

“This free to attend event was very popular and well attended by the local community and we are looking forward to attracting even more people this year."

Sharon from Nashira Jewellery spoke about the success of the festival last year.

She added: “I had an amazing time at the Seafood & Sounds event.

"It’s always a gamble as to whether a new event will pay off but it certainly did.

"The atmosphere was great and very well organised.”

The fun-filled day will be taking place on Saturday, September 14 and Sunday, September 15, around Old Town Poole & The Quay.
