DEDICATION to health and safety on a construction site for homes has won a site manager a top award.

Dave Murnane, 55, has won a health and safety award for his part in the development of St Mary’s View in Blandford St Mary.

The Hengistbury Head resident who works for Ashberry Homes has been working in the construction industry for 37 years and has spent 22 of those working for Ashberry’s parent company Bellway.

The certificate, which covers the company’s western area, was presented by Bellway’s Group health and safety director Claire Birkhead.

Dave said: “Ensuring our workers at St Mary’s View are able to work in a safe environment is exceptionally important. I take pride in keeping the site clean and tidy and it is an honour to receive this award.

“I would like to pass on my thanks to all the staff at St Mary’s View who have contributed to our success, and everyone at Bellway for their continued support.”

Claire added: “All of our sites across the business continue to maintain a high standard of health and safety practices which made this year’s competition exceptionally tough.

“It was an honour to present this award to Dave at St Mary’s View and I would like to extend my congratulations to the other regional winners and the teams at all our sites for their hard work in achieving such high standards.

“Running these awards is very important to us at Bellway as it is vital to shine a light on the efforts that keep everyone safe on our sites.”

Ashberry Homes is building a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes at St Mary’s View, with prices starting from £276,995.

The Bellway health and safety awards were launched last year to recognise the high level of good practice among its staff in the area of health and safety.
