A DORSET pantomime that has reached record-breaking ticket sales will be hosting an adults-only performance after soaring demand.
Tivoli Theatre Wimborne has been wowing audiences since 1936 and has now broken box office records with its latest performance of Cinderella.
Partnering with the venue, Made to Measure Productions set the standard with last year’s successful show of Aladdin however Cinderella broke ticket records well before opening night.
This year’s popular production stars Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Dame Courtney Jackson as the Fairy Godmother, Lucia-Jade Barker as Cinderella and the ugly sisters played by Luke Attwood and Brandon Nicholson.
Tivoli Theatre boasts special effects which it claims cannot be found in any other Dorset pantomime.
Lee Redwood, creative director for Made to Measure Productions said: “We are over the moon with the news that we have once again been able to set another record for pantomime at the Tivoli Theatre.
“We pride ourselves on creating bespoke and innovative productions that hold the traditions of pantomime at their core and this has clearly been a successful venture for Wimborne.
“We were very lucky during the pandemic to never miss a pantomime season at the Tivoli, and it’s so wonderful to see the theatre back to full houses packed with audiences laughing, smiling and cheering at the most magical time of year.
“This year’s production of Cinderella is a very special one, it’s full of magic, heart, hilarious comedy, wonderful music and with true storytelling at its roots.”
The Tivoli Theatre aims for audiences to leave ‘amazed’ as Cinderella soars through the skies in a sparkling silver coach led by a flying horse.
Almost all performances for the show are either sold out or close to being so, with tickets sales increasing closer to Christmas.
Cinderella has proved popular among not just children but parents too, with the theatre becoming well known for its ‘naughty nights’ for over those over 16 years old.
Due to popular demand, a fourth show has been planned for adults only on January 1.
Remaining tickets can be found on the Tivoli Theatre Wimborne website.
