CROWDS of families in Bournemouth took part in an interactive nativity play with actors, presents and a donkey.

The live nativity, which began in Boscombe Arcade on December 9, was jointly organised by Boscombe Salvation Army, Boscombe Baptist Church and Impact Boscombe.

Families were invited to ‘follow the star’ as the play travelled through Boscombe high street.

A narrator read the classic story of Mary and Joseph while the YP Band and Singing Company led carols.

The public were handed carol sheets to get involved in the five Christmas carols that were performed.

At the end visitors had a special surprise of being able to pet a real donkey while the nativity concluded.

Every child went home with a Bible Society Nativity story book and chocolates.

The event was also supported by the Black Cherry Theatre café, AFC Bournemouth, and Chester & Co Solicitors.
