A CHRISTCHURCH man wants to prove 'age is just a number' after securing three bodybuilding titles at the age of 63.

Trevor Northcott recently competed in the London and South championships where he placed - first in the over 60s and fourth in the over 50s.

He also came second in the over 60s category at the British Championships in London before heading to the Arnold Sports Festival Europe Madrid where he came fourth in the over 60s category.

The Arnold festival, named famously after one of the most famous bodybuilders, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is one of the most prestigious events worldwide after running for almost 30 years.

Trevor was delighted to be invited and take part in the competition.

Trevor said: “At the British Masters, I was delighted to finish second in the UK, but the Arnolds were amazing for me.

“To come top six was beyond my wildest dreams, so to finish fourth – I was ecstatic.”

He competed against bodybuilders from 33 different countries, earning fourth, with Japan’s Yuu Hayashi taking the top spot.

The father of two gave thanks to his wife who has inspired him along the way, he added: “I want to give a huge shout-out to my amazing wife, Aditi.

"She has been a supportive rock throughout this entire journey, sacrificing her time and energy to help me stay on track and focused on my goals and helping with my food preps, whilst at the same time nurturing our little family."
