OVER 40 soggy dachshunds braved the rain in spooky Halloween outfits for a group walk on the beach.

Some 44 dachshunds turned up to the event on Sandbanks Beach, organised by Dachshunds of Dorset, a social group for local pets and their owners to get together and meet more friends.

The 'mini but mighty' wore adorable outfits this morning dressed as, amongst other things, a pumpkin, a witch, and a fairy.

Everyone was in high spirits getting to know one another whilst showing off their fancy four-legged friends.

Bournemouth Echo:

Organiser Ellie Breakwell, who celebrates her 52nd birthday on Sunday, said: ‘We've got over 44 dogs today, so fingers crossed it will be the biggest Halloween dachshund event of the century.

“I honestly think that there have been amazing costumes today.

“There's some unusual ones, my dogs, Loki and Thor are in matching Halloween outfits.

“This is probably our seventh or eighth event in the year, it's really great."

The group recently did a walk in Upton Country Park and is planning a similar Christmas event on December 10.
