A BRAND new, family run steakhouse has moo-ved into Blandford.

Jerry’s Steak House, Café & Wine Bar opened its doors in West Street earlier this week and owners are describing it as the “go-to place in town for locally sourced steaks”.

Set over three floors, Jerry’s Steak House was largely completed by owner Jerry Ward-Soylemez, with seating available for up to 100 people with an outdoor area.

Eighteen people have been employed as a result of the opening, which was done by the mayor of Blandford Cllr Hugo Mieville on Sunday, August 20.

Jerry, who also owns Jerry’s Kebab Shop, said: “We are so excited to be able to offer relaxed social dining with something for everyone – perfectly-cooked steaks and burgers from 10oz upwards, light bites and a great selection of wines and beers.

Bournemouth Echo:

“Lauren and I are so grateful to the entire team who have done a fantastic job and we can’t wait to start welcoming customers through the doors.”

Cllr Hugo Mieville, mayor of Blandford Forum, added: “I was very happy to attend the official opening of Jerry’s Steakhouse for three reasons.

“Firstly, it is great to see an empty business property in the heart of the town being positively used again.

“Secondly, it’s all always nice to have another restaurant in the town to give residents more choice.

“Thirdly, Jerry has been through a long fight with bureaucracy and officialdom in order to achieve his goal and he should be much congratulated on his determination.”

Jerry offers large cuts of steak cooked to order with sides including fries or chunky chips, onion rings and mushrooms.

He also makes burgers, chicken or lamb sizzlers, pasta and salads along with wine accompanied by a bowl of olives or a cheese platter.

A number of vegetarian dishes are also available including falafel burgers and Penne Arrabbiata, along with gluten-free options and a kid's menu.

The restaurant is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 12pm and on Sundays from 10am to 10pm.
