WOW! I’ve not seen an opener like it – from the moment The Bodyguard started with music, dance, vocals, fire and fierce stage presence, the show had us all captivated.

Opening to the fantastic Queen of the Night (in a stunning costume) Zoe Birkett came to slay.

The romantic thriller storyline, which if you’ve seen the 1992 film will remember, is about super singing sensation Rachel Marron (played by Zoe Birkett) and, after finding out she is in danger from The Stalker, the relationship which develops with her bodyguard.

Intertwined with sub plot relationships the Whitney Houston tracks it is famed for, were brilliantly woven in to successfully bring the screen to the stage.

Hits included I Wanna Dance with Somebody, I’m Every Woman, One Moment In Time, How Will I Know, I Have Nothing, Run To You and the classic I will Always Love You.

Since Pop Idol, Zoe has carved out an impressive West End career and she brought every inch of her star quality to the Bournemouth Pavilion.

Alongside her was the equally talented cast including the charismatic Ayden Callaghan as bodyguard Frank Farmer her sister Nicki Marron played by Emily-Mae, James Groom as Sy Spector, the talented Ryo Appadu taking on the role as Rachel’s son Fletcher, and of course the brilliant cast of actors who danced, sang and entertained us all.

Not to be missed the show is a love story with moments of heart stopping explosion, gripping scenes, sensational singing, dynamic dance numbers, and everyone on their feet at the end.

The Bodyguard is on at the Bournemouth Pavilion until Saturday, August 12.
