A DORSET business park has been evacuated after a suspicious package was found.

Police were called to Sunrise Business Park after a suspicious package was found at a building at the business park.

The business park was evacuated by Dorset Police and a cordon has been put in place around the area, as officers investigate to find out the contents of the package.

Higher Shaftesbury Road has been closed past the business park while police carry out their enquiries.

A spokesperson for the county force said: “Dorset Police received a report at 7.59am on Monday 26 June 2023 of a suspicious package that had been located at a building at the Sunrise Business Park in Blandford.

“Officers have evacuated buildings at the business park and put a cordon in place as a precaution as enquiries are conducted to establish the contents of the package.

“Road closures have also been put in place and we would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding as we respond to this incident.”
