What to do if you witness a chemical spill

It is important to remember the steps for what to do if there is ever a chemical spill in your area:

  • Evacuate the area – remember to never put yourself at risk
  • Contain the spill safely – If containable, wear protective clothing whilst carrying this out - If there are any fumes, or if the area is not ventilated, do not enter the affected area
  • Contact local authorities – Make sure that the area is safe to the public by phoning your local fire/police
