WHAT an amusing letter from Susan Chapman, writes Chris Parkhurst, Echo 15th May.

Why amusing? Not because of the usual reasons that I write myself regarding her eco views. No, but because Mr Parkhurst seems to be offended because Vikki Slade is a Liberal Democrat and her party is pro EU, and this is what he appears to be threatened by with Ms Chapman’s letter.

For your information Mr Parkhurst, please keep up, the Lib Dems have long dropped their ideas of rejoining the EU.

What we need is at least sensible collaboration with the EU if there isn’t to be a rejoining campaign.

And to forget about us having nothing to do with the EU.

We need to be less combative and more co-operative, not the kind of Brexit Mr Parkhurst wants.

I have my own issues with Ms Slade and the Liberal Democrats due to what I see as their climate change obsession above many other things, but their EU stance is surely a lot more sensible and I support them on this, although if course I would rather we rejoin.

We have to accept that the honeymoon leave means leave period Brexit voters enjoyed for a while shortly after the referendum are over and we on the way to reforming a sensible working relationship with Europe.
