A WOMAN who made a fraudulent claim in relation to selling an in demand games console has been ordered to pay compensation.

Katrina Louise Gower, 40, was alleged to have committed fraud in that she dishonestly made a false representation that she would sell a PS5 console, intending to make a gain of £520 for herself.

Gower, whose address was given as Station Road, Poole, pleaded guilty to a single count of fraud by false representation at a Poole Magistrates’ Court hearing on Friday, May 20.

Court papers stated the offence took place at the defendant’s home address on January 22 last year.

Magistrates handed Gower a six-month community order with a requirement to take part in up to 10 rehabilitation activity days.

She was fined £100 and ordered to pay a £95 surcharge and £400 compensation.
