A CAR fire has damaged a major Hampshire road causing delays for motorists today.
A car has been destroyed after bursting into flames on the A31 at around 8pm last night.
A crew from Ringwood Fire Station raced to the scene on the eastbound carriageway near Stoney Cross.
The blaze was under control by around 9.15pm, however, repairs to the road are now underway.
One lane of the A31 remains closed meaning traffic is slow and queues are tailing back near to Burley.
According to Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, the incident involved a single vehicle and the police were alerted.
