DORSET Police has confirmed that one of its serving officers has died following a medical emergency at her home.
The police officer, who has not been named, fell ill at her home and was taken to hospital on Wednesday evening (September 30).
A spokeswoman for Dorset Police confirmed the “very sad” news and said the force is offering its support to the officer’s family.
She said: “We are very sad to confirm a serving Dorset Police officer died in hospital on the evening of Wednesday, September 30 following a medical emergency at her home.
“No further information will be issued at this time at the request of her family.
“Our thoughts are very much with her family, loved ones and colleagues, many of whom are Dorset Police colleagues.
“We are providing support to her family at this time.”
