A WOMAN caught speeding at almost 110 miles per hour has shown "genuine remorse", magistrates say.
Sarah Moore, who lives in Gunn Lane, Shillingstone, near Blandford, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court on August 28. The 44-year-old had been convicted of driving a Peugeot 406 on the M3 at Basingstoke at 107mph.
Moore committed the offence on December 18 2017.
She was fined £180 and ordered to pay a £30 surcharge. Her driving record was endorsed with six points.
Magistrates said they had taken the defendant's guilty plea into account when sentencing. They departed from guidelines because of Moore's "genuine remorse in court". The offence was "out of character" and she is unlikely to commit an offence again, it was said.
