THE Environment Agency has confirmed samples it took from two beaches at Poole Harbour following a sewage leak last week have come back all clear.
People had been warned not to swim in part of the harbour on Wednesday after a sewage pipe burst near Holes Bay Road.
However, that warning has now been lifted.
Wessex Water, Borough of Poole and the Environment Agency worked together to stop the pollution.
The Environment Agency says the samples it took from Lake Beach and Rockley Beach have both come back fine.
"The sewer pipe has been repaired and is no longer leaking, " the spokesman added.
On Friday, Wessex Water engineers continued working at the site.
A valve was repaired and, according to the the Environment Agency, no further pollution had entered the channel, which was reported running open and clean.
Water samples will continue to be taken around Holes Bay in the coming days.
Speaking as engineers tackled the leak, a Wessex Water spokesman told the Echo: "We are working on repairing some damage to our rising sewer main near the A350 Holes Bay Road in Poole and have contained the area to prevent any waste from spilling into Holes Bay.
"An investigation is under way to access the cause of the damage and our teams will be working around the clock to resolve the issue.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
