MORE than 360 complaints were made to New Forest District Council by residents about their neighbours' hedge and fence.

Between 2012 and 2018, a total of 365 complaints were made by New Forest residents, according to a Freedom of Information request carried out by outdoor building manufacturer Tiger Sheds.

Warwickshire County Council came top in the list of councils that had received the most complaints with 1,256 disputes recorded.

New Forest District Council came eighth in the list.

According to the research, 17 per cent of people found it annoying when their neighbour had an untidy garden as they believed it made the area look unsightly.

Having loud parties or BBQs, playing loud music, having an untidy garden that spills into their space and using loud gardening tools late at night or early in the morning were also considered annoying.

In the last six years, there have been 19,749 disputes between neighbours about gardens and green spaces.
