POLICE and the air ambulance were called to Hengistbury Head following the sudden death of a man on Thursday.
The air ambulance was on scene, as was an ambulance and rapid response vehicle.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "At 4.39pm yesterday, Dorset Police received a report from the ambulance service of a sudden death of a man at Hengistbury Head following a suspected medical episode.
"Officers attended to assist the ambulance service. The death is not being treated as suspicious.
"The man’s next of kin are aware and the coroner has been notified."
A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said: "We were called at around 3.20pm to attend an incident at Hengistbury Head, Southbourne.
"We attended the scene with an air ambulance, an ambulance and an operations officer."
The land train was unable to run due to the emergency services vehicles blocking the main path.
