JOIN the RSPB for lashings of cream, jam and scones washed down with classic Dorset tea at Arne Nature Reserve this weekend.
Visitors can also take part in a selection of traditional garden games including hoopla, bowls and French cricket, during the event, which takes place at the RSPB site on Saturday, August 4 and Sunday, August 5.
Ed Chivers, RSPB Arne Visitor Experience manager, said: “A cream tea is not just an afternoon snack, it's an institution. For generations we have filled the long gap between lunch and dinner with a humble scone topped with jam and cream (or are you a cream then jam person?).
"The team at RSPB Arne would like to celebrate this gastronomic tradition with you. Join us in the RSPB Arne Wildlife garden for all the delights of the traditional cream tea topped off with some fun summer garden games.”
The event is one of the free #WildWeekend events at RSPB Arne, which will be running every second weekend of the month, and weekly through August. Each weekend will have a different exciting theme such as reptiles, bugs or birds of prey.
