A MAN has been cautioned after cash was stolen from cards at a wedding.

The 45-year-old was initially arrested on suspicion of theft after an incident at Dudsbury Golf Club on November 18 last year.

A bride reported multiple cards containing hundreds of pounds had been stolen from a wedding post box.

A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "It was reported that between 6pm on November 18 and 11.45am on November 19 2017 approximately £350 was stolen from wedding cards at Dudsbury Golf Club, Christchurch Road, Longham.

"Following an investigation, a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft. He admitted the offences and has returned the money to the victim.

"After consultation with the victim, the man has been issued with an adult caution."

Sarah Armour, HR manager at the club, said: "This matter has been referred to our insurers and we are therefore obliged to make no comment while this is under investigation."
