A MAN arrested in connection with an alleged serious assault in Bournemouth has been released without charge.
Police received a report on Friday March 16 that an altercation between two men had taken place near the junction with Denmark Road and Castle Road around 1.30pm.
During the alleged incident, the arm of a 46-year-old man was impaled on the spike of a gate.
The man managed to free himself and was taken to hospital for treatment to an artery injury, which involved surgery.
A 27-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm but has now been released without charge.
Detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
