A BOURNEMOUTH man has been charged with stealing religious silverware worth £50,000 from a London home.
James Williams, of Holdenhurst Road, appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court via prison video link on Thursday morning. He has not yet entered a plea to the charge of burglary.
Prosecutors allege he stole the silverware from a property in Lingwood Road in east London on June 2. The items belong to a Jewish complainant, the court heard.
The 58-year-old will appear at the same court next week for a plea and trial preparation hearing in relation to the allegation.
He admitted separate charges of possessing a class A drug, possessing a class B drug and failing to provide a specimen of blood. The three charges relate to an incident in Bournemouth on June 9.
