BOTH of Swanage’s Lifeboats were tasked on Wednesday evening to a report of a person potentially cut off by the tide to the East of Clavell Tower in Kimmeridge.
The person had been spotted by a member of the public walking the coast path. They were concerned that they would not be able to walk out from their location with the incoming tide.
The lifeboats launched with the all-weather lifeboat arriving on scene first. A quick shoreline search was carried out while the volunteers from Kimmeridge Coastguard located and spoke to the first informant.
As they were starting their shoreline search they found a person who said that they had been cut off by the tide but they had managed to swim round the headland to safety.
