WELL done a thousand times England. Well done the whole team the country is thrilled. I am old enough to remember 1966. This doesn’t happen very often.
I am then appalled that Bournemouth and Poole councils have not organised large screens in the town centres, Bournemouth Square and Poole Park or Falkland Square.
What utterly miserable councils. Over 2,000 watched the Sweden match on a big screen on Brighton beach on Saturday. And around the country hundreds of large screens in town centres.
But in Poole and Bournemouth, large south coast holiday centres, mid-summer, we have nothing. Shocking organisational failure on the part of these councils.
Even one councillor who has spoken up in the Echo, Cllr Stanley-Watts, has to justify it in “footfall” for businesses. Well excuse me councillor but how about doing it for the sake of England, for our team and the tens of thousands who would love to watch the match outdoors on a huge screen and share in and enjoy with others a great event that comes along about once in a lifetime?
